A Festive Close to 2024 with a Sneak Peak Ahead into 2025
As we head through the holidays toward the end of this year, we reflect on a remarkable year of growth, creativity and achievement. It’s clear this year has been one of profound growth, innovation, and creativity. We’ve continued to redefine luxury in residential design and construction, blending global inspiration, cutting-edge technology, and timeless craftsmanship; while launching a full-service commercial operations.
For all of the growth we’ve experienced this year, we’d like to take the opportunity to express our gratitude to our clients, collaborators, and team members who made 2024 such a remarkable year. Every project completed this year represents a shared vision, a collaborative effort, and a commitment to personal expression for homeowners; and, brand expression for our commercial clients.
As we close out 2024, we wanted to write an article which explores the trends that shaped the company’s work in 2024, offers tips for holiday décor and entertaining spaces, and provides a look ahead to 2025.
The Evolution of Emotional Design
One of the most significant shifts in luxury design this year has been the move toward spaces that resonate emotionally with homeowners. Modern luxury is no longer about extravagance for its own sake—it’s about crafting homes that tell a deeply personal story.
For NGage Properties Group, this meant going beyond the standard design process to truly understand our clients. In 2024, the company embraced a more collaborative approach, conducting in-depth consultations to uncover not just aesthetic preferences but the memories, passions, and aspirations that clients wanted their homes to reflect.
A standout project this year was the transformation of a family home that expressed every corner of the client’s personality. The client was truly a Maximalist; what I like to call a personal expression of “comfort through chaos”. It challenged our typical design aesthetic which leans towards contemporary minimalist designs. But, at NGage Properties Group, we relish the opportunity to help clients fully explore and express their personalities. In the below photo, we imported this 300lb all-marble vanity from Turkey and we paired it with the design expertise of Clarke & Clarke in the Lynx Wallpaper which features hand-drawn magical winged lynx leaping through a starry night sky inspired by South African paintings and mythology...this wallpaper is part of the magical Wilderie Collection by British graphic designer Emma J Shipley. We also painted the pocket entry door and preceding hallway with high gloss Galapagos Turquoise green.
The Role of Technology in Craftsmanship
In an era where technology continues to transform industries, NGage Properties Group continues to embrace innovation as a key tool. Advances in 3D printing, virtual reality (VR), and smart home integration allowed the team to push boundaries, enhancing precision while maintaining a human touch.
One of the year’s highlights was our continued use of virtual reality to enhance the client experience. By leveraging VR, we enabled homeowners to virtually walk through their spaces long before construction began. This interactive approach not only empowered clients to make more informed design decisions but also strengthened the collaborative relationship between clients and the design team.
Holiday Decor Tips and Ideas for Creating Entertaining Spaces This Season
The holidays are a time for connection, and your home can become the ultimate destination for unforgettable gatherings. Here are a few tips to create luxurious yet functional entertaining spaces with seasonal holiday design aesthetics:
1. The Welcoming Entryway: Set the tone for your guests with a beautifully decorated entryway. Think oversized vases filled with seasonal foliage, a console table or large mirror with curated holiday décor, and subtle lighting to create a warm and inviting ambiance. Choose your leading theme color…and no, it doesn’t have to be red and green. In the photo above, this homeowner used the ever-so-popular Plum color accented with gold for ornamental display.
2. Layered Natural Elements: Blend greenery like eucalyptus, spruce, and pine with metallic accents to create depth and texture. Pair natural garlands with velvet ribbons and copper or gold ornaments for a timeless yet modern look.
3. Seasonal Lighting: Opt for warm, ambient lighting to enhance the holiday mood. Layer your lighting with candles, string lights, and statement chandeliers to create a cozy yet glamorous effect.
4. Monochromatic Themes: This year, monochromatic holiday décor is trending. Choose a single color palette—such as all-white, deep emerald, or shimmering gold—and use it throughout your home for a cohesive and polished aesthetic.
5. Artisanal Touches: Incorporate handcrafted details, like custom wreaths, hand-poured candles, or bespoke table settings, to add a personal and elegant touch to your holiday displays.
6. Statement Pieces: Anchor your holiday décor with one or two dramatic elements, such as a towering tree adorned with oversized ornaments or a dining table centerpiece featuring cascading florals and candles.
7. Flexible Seating Areas: Arrange modular or movable seating in your living room to encourage conversation and create a sense of intimacy. Plush throws, decorative pillows, and ottomans can enhance comfort while maintaining an elevated aesthetic.
8. Interactive Drink Stations: Transform a corner of your space into a luxurious drink station. Include options for custom cocktails, mulled wine, or hot chocolate with a variety of toppings. Use crystal glassware and gold-toned accents for a refined presentation.
9. Dining Room Drama: Elevate your dining space with layered table settings—think textured chargers, embroidered napkins, and candlelight. Consider creating a holiday-inspired floral arrangement as the centerpiece to tie everything together.
10. Outdoor Retreats: If weather permits, consider creating a cozy outdoor entertaining area. Include heated lamps, faux fur blankets, and soft lighting to make the space inviting. An outdoor fire pit or hot beverage station adds an element of seasonal magic.
